“NIC” Promising Start up

National Industries Company was established in 1960, it was the first Kuwaiti company that joint between the public and private sectors. It is considered as one of the most important companies under the umbrella of National Industries Group (NIG).

National Industries Company is listed in Kuwait Stock Exchange as one of the largest industrial companies in the Middle East, and it relies on about 1,800 employees working in the field of manufacturing, distributing and marketing of a wide variety of products, building materials and infrastructure, which achieve the best quality and match local and international standards.

“NIC” Building and Developing the Industrial Sector “Locally and Regionally“

“NIC” has contributed effectively in building and developing of the Industrial Sector in Kuwait, by establishing prestigious industrial companies like: Kuwait Asbestos Co. (1961), Petrochemical Industries Company (1961), Kuwait Prefabricated Buildings Co. (1964), Kuwait Pipe Industries and Oil Services company (1966), and Kuwait Cement Company (1968).

“NIC” Large Industrial Investments to Support Public Projects

Since it was established, “NIC” has participated in the implementation of all stages of development in Kuwait by creating and developing several products and building materials factories in order to meet the needs of the various development projects in Kuwait. “NIC” has made investments to build several factories, considered as ones of the largest in the Middle East according to their potential productivity.

“NIC” has two sets of producing plants for its works, located in Mina Abdullah and Sulaibiya:
The factories of Mina Abdullah produce limestone based products such as Sand lime Bricks and  White Blocks, Plastic based products such as pipes and accessories for plastic industries, and a wide range of special materials used for cladding and infrastructures.

Sulabia factories produce cement based products such as Ready Mix cement industries, various types of tiles and interlocks, beside the products required for the infrastructure projects, like the Concrete Pipes and other accessories.

As “NIC” keens to guarantee the highest levels of quality, both sets were equipped with advanced laboratories with good ability to adjust and develop outputs quality.

“NIC” Pioneers to Transfer Advanced Technology in Kuwait

In addition to the previous, “NIC” was one of the first companies used advanced technology in Kuwait.

“NIC” has established a factory of automotive batteries (“Wara” & “Dana”- in the middles of 70s Licensed by a Swedish company), and a factory of detergents (“Persil” & “Dixan” brands- licensed by “HENKEL” German Company).

“NIC” Continuous Development

Since in was born, “NIC” aimed to follow a strategy to expand its industrial investments in a way fits the requirements of the states development, therefore “NIC” established the Ceramics & Porcelain Factory and the Paints Factory, in order to offer a better diversity and integration in building materials.

“NIC” International Industrial Investments in Various Sectors

Local Industrial Investments of “NIC” include several companies with several activities, like; Building System Industries Co., Kuwaiti Rocks Company, Al-Raya Global Real Estate Co., First Qatar Company For Real Estate Development, Bayan Holding Company, Ikarus Oil Industries Company, Kuwait Energy Company.

According to its technical wide experience for more than 60 years, In partnership with other investors from the Arabian Gulf Area, “NIC” has established another industrial companies in Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman and Kingdom of Bahrain. In addition to its other investments in the energy field, like; Dana Gas Company (UAE), Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (Pakistan).

“NIC” has special interest in opening new markets, therefore its products are exported to another countries in the region such as Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Bahrain, Qatar, Iraq, Jordan, and its looking to open new markets in another countries.

“NIC” Technologies and Industrial Systems Development

“NIC” worked on developing industrial technologies and systems to fit the requirements of local market, in 2007 “NIC” developed a new technology to produce the White Blocks using (Mini AAC Plant), this technology is suitable for small and new markets because of its low cost and its ability to expand according to the expansion of the market.

“NIC” has dialed with a German company, a leader one in this field, to manufacture the required instruments to operate it, and worked on patenting it in the United States to protect its Intellectual property.
